optique.<\/strong> Les cellules nerveuses charg\u00e9es d\u2019envoyer les informations au cerveau ne parviennent plus \u00e0 remplir leur r\u00f4le, <strong>\u00e0 cause de la pression d\u2019un liquide, d\u00e9nomm\u00e9 humeur aqueuse, sur le globe oculaire<\/strong>. Celle-ci fournit nutriments et oxyg\u00e8ne \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153il, et devrait, normalement, \u00eatre drain\u00e9e \u00e0 travers de petites ouvertures appel\u00e9es \u00ab\u00a0 r\u00e9seau trab\u00e9culaire\u00a0\u00bb.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Lorsqu\u2019il est engorg\u00e9, le r\u00e9seau est incapable d\u2019\u00e9couler l\u2019humeur aqueuse qui, en s\u2019accumulant, exerce alors une pression sur le nerf optique. <strong>Les cellules nerveuses qui ne sont plus aliment\u00e9es en sang finiront alors par mourir.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Le patient atteinte de glaucome verra sa vision progressivement baisser,<\/strong> et si le reste de ses cellules intactes n\u2019est pas trait\u00e9 \u00e0 temps, le processus peut aboutir \u00e0 la perte de la vision. Il se caract\u00e9rise par la fermeture aig\u00fce de l\u2019angle iridocorn\u00e9en. Rapidement, l\u2019oeil devient rouge et douloureux avec baisse de vision. La tension oculaire est alors tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9e. Le GAFA peut \u00eatre efficacement pr\u00e9venu par la r\u00e9alisation d\u2019une iridotomie au laser, propos\u00e9e chez les patients \u00e0 risque.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong><span class=\"color\">Le glaucome \u00e0 angle ouvert,<br \/><\/span><\/strong>Les personnes atteintes de glaucome ne ressentent pas de douleur et n\u2019en d\u00e9c\u00e8lent pas les sympt\u00f4mes. Le d\u00e9pistage par la prise de la tension oculaire est syst\u00e9matique \u00e0 chaque contr\u00f4le de vision au del\u00e0 de 40 ans.
